Anees Brings Healing, Hype, and Heart to Minneapolis

There’s something about Anees that just clicks. Maybe it’s the energy, maybe it’s the honesty, maybe it’s the fact that the dude left law school behind to chase music and somehow made that leap feel like a spiritual calling. Whatever it is—Minneapolis felt it loud and clear.

Once Anees hit the stage with his band, you could feel the love he was getting right away—hands in the air, people singing along, overall full crowd engagement. He’s got this wild ability to make a room full of strangers feel like a living-room jam session with your closest friends. From the first note, the space turned warm and loud and human. There were smiles everywhere, people dancing like no one was watching, bubble guns, and you could tell Anees was feeding off it.

He sang with that mix of heart and clarity that hits different—talking self-love, growth, healing, and everything in between. Before playing “Drunk on Myself,” he shared that he wrote it when he was forgetting how to love himself—and suddenly the crowd went from hyped to hushed. It hit hard. You could feel people soaking it in like medicine.

One of the most beautiful parts of the night? The presence of two sign language interpreters, posted at the front and fully locked in with the rhythm and message of each song. Watching them flow with the music brought an entirely new level of inclusion and energy—proof that this show was built for everyone to feel seen, heard, and part of the moment.

Halfway through the set, he did something you don’t see every day— he pulled one lucky fan from the crowd for a one-on-one cypher right there on stage. No pre-planning, no safety net, just two people trading bars and hyping each other up while the crowd was immersed in the freestyles. It was raw, unscripted, and electric. One of those moments that turns a concert into a core memory.

The way Anees connects with his audience isn’t just lyrical—it’s spiritual. You can tell he’s been through some real personal evolution, and now he’s just pouring that light into every song. His delivery is poetic without being preachy, emotional without trying too hard, and raw in the best way.

My honest opinion? I don’t see him playing smaller venues for much longer. With the way this crowd showed up—and the way he made them feel—it’s only a matter of time before Anees is headlining arenas. I’ll be there for it. Again and again.
