BREAKOUT STAGE: Archers

Wisconsin’s Loudest Hearts

There are bands that play for the crowd—and then there are bands like Archers, who bleed with them.

Formed in 2015 and forged in the local Wisconsin scene, Archers have steadily grown from DIY shows and basement pits into a national force in metalcore. But for those of us lucky enough to have known them early on, this breakout isn’t just overdue—it’s personal.

I’ve worked with Archers on countless occasions. I grew up with Oscar (bass/vocals), and my fiancée went to school with Nathanael, the band’s powerhouse frontman. What’s always set them apart—then and now—isn’t just the music. It’s the gratitude, the genuine energy, and the way they treat their fans like family. Every show, every venue, no matter the size—they show up for the crowd as much as the crowd shows up for them.

🎤 On Stage: Catharsis & Chaos

When Archers hit the stage, they aren’t just performing—they’re purging. Each note feels urgent, every scream sounds earned, and the entire set rides this perfect balance of precision and volatility. Nathanael’s vocals cut between searing screams and haunting clean melodies, while Ben Koehler’s guitar work adds emotional weight to every riff, never feeling overproduced or hollow.

Oscar brings both sonic depth and crowd energy with his dual role on bass and vocals—always moving, always engaging. And with Grayson on drums holding the whole storm together, their chemistry onstage feels more like a brotherhood than a band.

From breakdowns that rattle the floor to introspective moments that quiet even the loudest crowd, Archers know how to control a room. And whether it’s 40 people in a basement or a thousand in a festival pit, they give everything.

It’s that raw, human intensity—somewhere between pain and power—that defines an Archers set. You don’t just watch it… you feel it.

🤝 Off Stage: Heart Over Hype

Some bands switch off when the lights go down. Not Archers. Off stage, they’re the same grounded, passionate, and humble people they’ve always been—just with a little more mileage and a lot more fans.

Whether they’re hauling their own gear, signing shirts at the merch table, or staying after the show to chat with every last person who wants a photo or story—they show up. Always.

They remember names. They check in with fans going through hard times. They support other local acts. Even as their platform has grown, their character hasn’t changed. That’s rare. And it’s why their fanbase isn’t just loyal—it’s invested.

The love they give off stage is the same love that built them from the ground up. And it’s a big reason why they’re still rising.

🎧 Why Archers Deserve Your Ears (and Your Heart)

Because Archers isn’t just chasing trends—they’re building legacy.

They’ve carved out a sound that bridges raw post-hardcore emotion, thoughtful lyricism, and crushing modern metalcore weight. Their songs tackle everything from anxiety and addiction to broken relationships and self-worth—but always with a hand extended, never a finger pointed.

Each release feels like a chapter in a shared story, and fans see themselves in the lyrics because Archers speaks from experience, not fiction.

They’ve also managed to stay authentic in an oversaturated scene—keeping full creative control, producing with high-caliber collaborators like Matt Good, but never losing their local roots or underground ethos.

They don’t chase virality. They earn loyalty.
And they’re doing it the right way: with intention, vulnerability, and ferocity.
